This website was launched in an effort to connect with my mom’s father, an American soldier who served in Vietnam in the 1960s. My family lost touch with him shortly before the war ended. We don’t know his name, where he came from, or even his race. All we’re sure about is that he was stationed in or near Da Nang in the 1960s and had my mother in 1966.
With this blog, I hope to track my progress in finding the identity of a man who has been shrouded in mystery throughout the course of my mother’s life. In doing so, I want to be able to share my findings as well as everything I learn in regards to fascinating subject of genealogy and ancestry.
My name is Tony Ho Tran, the tallest guy in the picture above! I’m a writer and editor based out of Chicago. When I’m not working on this blog, I can be found playing the guitar poorly, working on my novel Tony Fights ISIS, and practicing magic tricks nobody will ever see.
