It’s been a big week.
That’s an understatement.
It’s been a HUGE week.
Let’s recap:
- We found my grandfather. We discovered the identity of the man who fathered my mom and left her in Vietnam over 50 years ago.
- I told my mom about her father’s identity. My mom finally discovered her father’s name and face was after not knowing all her life.
- I’m finally sending out a newsletter. I’ve been sitting on a pile of email addresses for months now and now I’ve gotten around to sending out an email. Woooo!
January 2018 goes down in the Ho Tran family history books as one of its most memorable.
I hesitate to say it’s one of the best because even though we found out a lot, there’s still a lot we don’t know like:
- Who are my mom’s sisters?
- Would they want to talk to us?
- Would they want to MEET with us?
Answers I hope to discover soon. In fact, I have a phone call scheduled today with one of my mom’s alleged sisters.
The craziest part? The sister doesn’t even know I’m about to call her.
I’ll keep you updated.
I am ecstatic for and with you, Tony. I look forward with great anticipation to hearing how the phone conversation goes. Following your writings of your search from the beginning until now has been the absolute best reading I’ve ever read. It’s as if I’m reading a novel one chapter at a time and I can’t wait to read the next chapter! I’m so happy for and proud of you!
It’s been a week. How was the call?!?
Writing a recap of everything as we speak. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it when it’s published!
